New System Installed in Georgia

Through a World Bank funded project, DCL staff successfully installed a new ROMDAS System for the Roads Department of Georgia. The equipment was installed and commissioned during May and extensive training was provided to local engineers on the operation and maintenance of the system.

This equipment included Right Of Way & Pavement Video Logging modules, 2x Laser Profilometers, Road Geometry as well as static Traffic Counters (tube and radar type). 100 kilometers of validation surveys were conducted which the ROMDAS System successfully passed.

This is the second system supplied to the Roads Department of Georgia who purchased a ROMDAS Bump Integrator with Z-250 Reference Profiler in 2007. Local engineers who participated in the 2007 training where still present for the recent training and we would like to commend them for their dedication and efforts over the years to developing the condition and safety of Georgia’s road network.

ROMDAS would like to also thank our local partner, Information and Communication Systems Ltd, for organising the training and showed great hospitality to our technician during his stay.
