Roughness Measurement in Dakar, Senegal

Senegal has big plans to ‘clean up the streets’ along their network, they invested in a ROMDAS Laser Profilometer System to enable them to collect high accuracy roughness data. This was the first step amongst many, as a collective group of companies work together performing construction, testing and pavement management plans to help secure better road travel throughout West Africa.

The ROMDAS system is doing an excellent job collecting accurate roughness data and, thanks to the on-site training, local engineers are confident is its use moving forward. Read their testimonial about their experience with ROMDAS below:

“In May 2017, Arezki purchased the ROMDAS Laser Profilometer IRI measurement system.

The equipment arrived promptly, in anticipation for the ROMDAS engineer’s arrival. The installation was carried out swiftly and smoothly. The Engineer (Harrison Morgan) showed a great knowledge of the equipment and his expertise, as well as dedication to completion of the project. The engineer was very prepared for varying circumstances and more than happy to cooperate in any instance.

The system is functioning well and all necessary testing was performed efficiently, outputting accurate data required for further planning and construction.

Training was completed by Harrison Morgan. Technical knowledge and patience were displayed, even when a language barrier was present.  Presentations and visual examples made the training very easy to understand, and clarifications were made about anything that was not understood.

AGEROUTE appreciates the efforts of ROMDAS and the engineer who performed the Training & Installation.”
