Laser Profilometer System Passes Transport NSW Validation In Australia
We are delighted that Roadtest Holdings has successfully passed Australia's recently introduced rigorous RMS Roughness Validation Test
We are delighted that ROMDAS customer, Roadtest Holdings has successfully passed Australia's recently introduced rigorous RMS Roughness Validation Test.
Roadtest Holdings system included the latest ROMDAS Laser Profilometer with a single Right of Way camera and GPS unit. This ROMDAS system was tested and validated against the Laser Profiler of The Transport of New South Wales department on prescribed RMS Roughness Calibration Sites. The sites comprise of two stretches of road covering the range of NAASRA Roughness Values from approx. 20 to 200. These sites also cover a range of road types from single lane winding road to full multi-lane freeway conditions.
Daniel Sazdanoff, General Manager at Roadtest Holdings said “Roadtest Australia has found the ROMDAS system incredibly easy to use and be familiarised with. Enduring a global pandemic is no easy task for any business but we are thankful for the helpful staff at ROMDAS for providing such a high level of support despite lockdowns and travel restrictions, as well as being available for us whenever we had any questions on setting up or operating our system. Achieving our IRI testing certification requirements with our local government was completed without hassle and we couldn’t be happier with the service and support from ROMDAS.”
The ROMDAS Laser Profilometer is a Class I Inertial Profiler conforming to ASTM-E950. It uses a combination of laser and accelerometer to measure the longitudinal elevation profile of the road to then calculate International Roughness Index (IRI) values.
